Earlier in April 2022, Vena Energy partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to organize an internal fund-raising campaign for our employees across 9 jurisdictions to donate towards the humanitarian aid for those displaced by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Vena Energy also matched its employee donations dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total donation from Vena Energy and our employees to more than US$18,000. The funds raised will go toward supporting displaced Ukrainian families with humanitarian assistance coordinated by UNHCR.
The winter months can be a punishing season for most, especially the low-income families and the elderly who live in the rural areas of Seoul. On 7 December, employees of Vena Energy in South Korea provided heating solutions to help the members of the community stave off the cold. The essentials were delivered safely to its grateful beneficiaries, while abiding with the local pandemic regulations.
Since 2019 Vena Energy has been working closely with the host communities in the village of Geres in Indonesia to establish a Women Entrepreneurship Program, aimed at boosting the local economy as well as creating alternative revenue for the local women. In 2021 Vena Energy conducted a series of workshops to facilitate the processing, production and marketing of the local cassava chips. This year, the product is finally launched and we hope to introduce the program and the produce to the wider community in Indonesia.
Our colleagues in India recently partnered with the Impact Guru Foundation to provide medical care, basic diagnostics, medicine, and essentials, as well as counselling services to the villagers in 24 villages near our 26 MW JMD Wind Project.
