Equis Commissions 5.7 MW Solar Project in Aomori Prefecture, Japan

Tokyo, 23 May, 2017 – Equis Energy (Equis), Asia‐Pacific’s largest renewable energy IPP, has commissioned a 5.7 MW solar project in Kamikita City in Aomori Prefecture, Japan.

In Japan, Equis owns 40 projects comprising 0.9 GW and has a further 1.3 GW under development. At its regional headquarters in Tokyo and local offices in Shichinohe, Kasama and Fukushima, Equis employs over 60 professionals well‐versed in development, design, project management and investment.

Adam Ballin, Equis Board Director, said, “Renewables represent the future for Japan both economically and environmentally, and Equis is excited about the contribution our new solar plant in Kamikita will make to supporting the community and supplying the country with low‐cost, clean solar energy.”

The Enokibayashi project generates 6,840 MWh of energy per annum and on an annual basis, provides 1,297 households with electricity, saves 3,769 tons of CO2 as well as 6.4 million liters of water.
